I was there when he took my sins and made them his
own.
Isa
53:4-6
4 Surely
he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he
was wounded for our
transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of
our peace
was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of
us all.
I was there when they mocked
him.
Lk
23:36-38
36 And the
soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews,
save thyself.
38 And a superscription also was written over
him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE
JEWS.
I was there when Mary witnessed the sad
death of her son, the savior of the
world.
John 19:25-27
25 Now
there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the
wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When
Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he
saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Then
saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple
took her unto his own
home.
I was there when he said,
"It is finished". My sins were paid for with his
blood.
John
19:28-30
28 After
this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture
might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now
there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar,
and put
it upon hyssop, and put
it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the
vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
